Why don’t objects last forever? Why does it matter where watercolours are displayed? Why is it necessary to wear gloves to handle objects? If you have ever wondered why collections care matters or even what it is, then this is the course for you. Participants will learn what the main agents of decay are and how they can damage objects. They will also be offered a range of practical strategies to suit all budgets from maintaining their building to which beetle to be concerned about to ensure that their collections will survive for many more years...
Who should attend?
All museum staff who want to gain a greater understanding of how they should care for their collections, why they deteriorate and what can be done to limit damage.
“Informal, relaxed ad informative approach. Fun and interesting.” – Course delegate
